This project represents my Bachelor of Architecture graduation project, which focuses on the design of a land transportation transit terminal operating in a manner similar to an airport, but dedicated to bus transportation. The terminal serves as a major crossing point for passengers traveling from Jordan to the western side across the border. The project is located in Al-Shouna, Jordan, a strategically significant border area that required urban and functional development.
The existing site was re-envisioned as a fully integrated transportation hub that clearly separates the movement of arrivals and departures, ensuring efficiency, safety, and smooth passenger flow, following principles commonly used in airport planning. The building consists of four floors and includes waiting areas, security and inspection zones, service facilities, and administrative spaces, in addition to the operational zones related to bus movement and passenger circulation.
The design emphasizes clear circulation paths, functional zoning, and user experience, while also contributing to the urban identity of the area and reflecting the importance of the site as a major gateway and transportation node.
